1. Our Core Commitment

Your data is collected solely to operate LightsOnAlert. It is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose — period.

This is not a buried clause. It is the foundation of how we operate.

2. Who We Are

LightsOnAlert is operated by CurmudgInnovation, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Texas limited liability company. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of LightsOnAlert at lightsonalert.com.

3. What We Collect and Why

We collect the minimum data needed to provide the service. We do not collect demographic information, browsing history, behavioral profiles, or any data unrelated to operating LightsOnAlert.

4. What We Will Never Do With Your Data

• We will never sell your personal information to any third party.
• We will never rent or trade your data to marketers, data brokers, or advertisers.
• We will never share your contact information with any outside organization for their own purposes.
• We will never use your place addresses to infer or sell location intelligence.
• We will never run third-party advertising on LightsOnAlert or use ad tracking pixels.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use a small number of trusted vendors solely to operate the service:

• Twilio — SMS delivery. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio only to send you alerts you have requested.
• SendGrid — Email delivery. Your email address is transmitted to SendGrid only to send you alerts and account notices.
• Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles billing; we never see or store your full card number.
• Google Maps / Geocoding API — Converting addresses to coordinates. Only the address text you enter is sent; no account information is transmitted.
• DigitalOcean — Hosting and database infrastructure, located in the United States.

Each vendor is bound by their own privacy terms. None are permitted to use your data for their own marketing or to share it with others.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information (name, email, phone, and places) is permanently deleted from our systems. Aggregated, non-identifiable operational logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

7. Security

All data is stored in an encrypted database hosted within the United States. All connections to LightsOnAlert use TLS (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to the database is restricted to application servers only.

8. Legal Disclosures

We will disclose your information only if required to do so by law — for example, in response to a valid court order or subpoena. We will notify you of such a request to the extent permitted by law.

9. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through your Account Settings page. To request a full export of your data or to permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.

10. Children

LightsOnAlert is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify active users by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The current policy is always available at lightsonalert.com/privacy.
